NYC Car-in' It

Today was the last day of the New York International Auto Show, and I can't remember when was the last time I've been to one of these...or if I ever been to one at all ;-)

Not so much of a car enthusiast, I simply know what I like. Pretty shiny things in nice colors.

Saw more SUVs than I could ever imagine there existed, but had fun hoping in and out of cars that I know I could never afford. And of course ran to a few of those "they did what?" kind of cars...

...and a few earth friendly cars here and there.

The show did confirm my suspicions, regardless of previous inclinations...I like small cars. And really, I heart the Smart Car!

i think it's too cool for school.

oh...and there was a special guest there as well...

The Start of Summer?

Today the temperature hit above the 70s and at certain moments, it felt summer-like. But I think mother nature was just teasing us because the weather for the upcoming week doesn't even seem like Spring weather either.

But either way, due to the lovely weather, I decided to take my chance at familiarizing myself with the Reservoir path in Central Park. I've read that it's an easy 1.5 mile run and that the surrounding view is somewhat a bit of amazing.

I started off on the East side of the Park, as that is where I reside, and I looked straight across the reservoir to see where I would end up, halfway through my trek.

I always forget what those 2 towers are, but I did come up closer to them as I passed the 1/4 mile spot for the trek.

When I reached the halfway point...the complete opposite side of the reservoir, the sun was still shining, and I was actually getting hot.

There was definitely a lot of runners and walkers in the area and I can only imagine how busy this track can get. Sports Tracker marked my route as being about 2 miles, so we'll see how long it will take me to run the path without stopping.

Happy (belated) Easter!

So in trying to avoid long monthly entries...I'm giving a try bi-monthly updates, since I know I can't possibly do weekly ones. I mean, I'm not as interesting as I'd like my life to be :-p

So I really was expecting a relaxing if not lazy Easter Sunday, after coming off of a fun-filled Thursday (that will be another recap)...that is...until Dar invited me over for Easter dinner. And there it was, off I was to Jersey. But not before baking some cheesecake for dessert.

They do look larger than life, but they were mini cheesecakes. Made from love and a lack of a mixer. I have nooo idea where those pieces went, nor what you call them. You know, the mixing things that you stick into the machine...the components that do all the work. But anywho, I even made a video of the baking routine. But another lesson learned, my kitchen lighting is not made for video recording.

Sigh.

At least Easter dinner was great...

and the cheesecakes did come out fine. Hope you all had a great Easter Sunday.
